The Centre for Sport on Frenchay Campus includes a large main hall with a wooden sprung floor and two glass back squash courts. It also has an Internationally recognised water-based all-weather pitch, which has hosted a number of National play-off matches, as well as weekly student and club fixtures. The hall has court markings for a variety of sports including, badminton (8 courts) , basketball, netball, 5-a-side football, volleyball and indoor hockey. The 70 station fitness suite with state of the art resistance and cardiovascular training machines as well as a free weights area provide a fully integrated fitness facility to all students, athletes and members of the local community, alongside the new Wallscourt Farm Gym. From fitness classes in the aerobics studio to hockey training camps on the all weather pitch, the CFS is able to cater for beginner’s right through to world class athletes . To support this physiotherapy, coach education and hotshots children's sport camps are all features of what the UWE Centre For Sport has to offer, as well as driving health initiatives and providing volunteer opportunities.
